You can all feel a little bit safer as you go about your daily routine as 32 of our Sea Scouts have just successfully completed the British Heart Foundation Heart Start Training Programme and have certificates to prove it! Our grateful thanks to the two trainers from the London Ambulance Service who conducted the course. The Scouts learned Emergency Life Support skills that include CPR, dealing with choking, with serious bleeding and how to assist somebody who may have had a heart attack. They join over 2.6 million people in the UK who have already received this vital training.
Our Scout Group is celebrating being 75 years old! We are trying to contact as many of our past members and leaders as possible so we may invite them to join us in March for a celebratory Dinner Dance. Click on the Quick Link to read the Flyer with all of the details and use the other link to book your tickets! If you have any questions or wish to tell us more about yourself please use the link off the Contacts page.
We have recently received a number of enquiries for places in our Group and have had to disappoint a lot of children because the applications have been left far too late! Unfortunately, the northern part of our borough suffers from a shortage of Leaders and consequently some Groups have closed and some do not offer all sections (Beavers, Cubs & Scouts). Our Group operates a waiting list for places and we recommend that names are on the list by the time your child is 3 years old if they are to have a place in our Beaver Colony at the age of 6 years! So, if you are interested in learning more, please see the contacts page to get more information. Application for any age child is welcome although places do not become available very often however, we will offer advice on your best options.
